How to Ensure Product Brightness in ABS Plastic Injection Molding
2023-06-27
Many products made of ABS raw materials have certain requirements for their surface smoothness and brightness. Therefore, during the Injection Molding process, it is necessary to fully ensure the brightness and smoothness of the product. How can we ensure this? Specifically, we can ensure from the following aspects. A. Mold 1. Ensure the smoothness of the mold core. There should be no scratches, micropores, wear, roughness or other issues in the mold cavity of the mold core. If these problems occur, they must be repaired in a timely manner, as they will affect the surface glossiness of the product. For some enterprises that require high smoothness, precision polishing of the mold can be used to achieve this. 2. Ensure that there are no other impurities in the mold cavity, such as oil stains, water stains, release agents, etc. 3. Ensure smooth demolding of the product. If the demolding angle of the plastic part is too small, which makes demolding difficult, or if there is too much force during demolding, it will cause the surface of the product to lack luster. 4. Ensure smooth exhaust of the mold cavity. Generally, there is air left in the mold cavity. When injecting products, it is necessary to ensure that the air in the cavity can be smoothly discharged, otherwise staying in the cavity will affect the molding of the product and also affect its smoothness. 5. Ensure the cross-sectional area of the gate and runner. If the cross-sectional area of the gate or runner is too small or suddenly changes, the melt will be subjected to too much shear force when flowing in it, resulting in turbulent dynamic flow and poor gloss. B. In terms of injection molding process 1. Ensure injection speed. If the injection speed is too small, the surface of the plastic part is not dense and shows poor gloss. 2. The cooling system needs to be improved. For thick walled plastic parts, if the cooling is not sufficient, the surface will become rough and the luster will be darker. 3. Fully ensure the pressure and duration of pressure maintenance. If the holding pressure is insufficient, the holding time is too short, resulting in insufficient density and poor gloss of the plastic parts. 4. Increase the melt temperature appropriately. If the melt temperature is too low, it can lead to poor fluidity and poor gloss.
